Acrylic Colors
Is it safe to paint indoors with acrylic colors?
I hate this medium, but thats what we use in my figure illustration class, so for the homework i spent like 12 hours mixing the paint and i had the window opened half of the time. I just wonder if i can get any damage from the odor and the fumes from the paint? I will apreciate an answer form a pro.
If you mean by pro, a selling artist, I'm that. But I don't make my living with my art. I'm retired.
I know of no known problems using acrylics, nor have I heard of any (except, below).
Problems usually occur with oil paints and mediums. For one thing, oil can be absorbed by the skin. Not so acrylics.
However, it is dangerous to airbrush with acrylics without a well-fitting mask covering your nose and mouth. It's possible, If you breath it in, to get some into your lungs--plastic. Not good.
