How to open acrylic paints?

I just bought Daler Rowney acrylic paint tubes. They're small two inch tubes that have a metal film over the top. I use the cap to puncture the top because it has a pointy end. When I do, the paint just gushes out. I tried using a needle to poke the top and again the paint just gushes out. It's such a waste of paint to me.
Any tips on how to prevent this from happening?

Well, make sure you're not squeezing the tube and that it is held straight up. Then maybe try peeling the film cover off instead of poking a hole in it. but if there is no way to peel it off then take a needle and make a little slit at the very edge of the film cover. and it nothing gushes out continue taking of the cover with your hand or needle. hope it works for you this time!
