Any music suggestions for a college audition?
I've been playing the violin since I was in 5th grade (I am now a senior). The University I will be attending next fall holds auditions for its music department, as do most University's that I've come across. Word for word these are the Instrumental Audition requirements: "The student should demonstrate mastery of the intermediate-level instrumental repertoire. Auditioning students must perform two prepared selections, a movement from a solo work (such as a concerto or sonata) and an etude." Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could play? I have some stuff in mind but am not entirely sure as of yet. Thanks!
You need to consult with your violin teacher about this one! She/He is the expert on violin auditions and can pick pieces to your level and strengths. They are your most important resource for getting into this school.
