Are golden acrylic paints hazardous?
I've been wanting to try them for a very long time now that i've been more confident about my paintings.
No more than any paint. Lead is not allowed in paint manufactured in the U.S. but you should be more worried about cadmium and cobalt which are present in a few paints.
Once they have been made into paint, unless you stick your fingers in your mouth, use them in an airbrush, or soak your hands in them, they are generally safe.
Any particular paint will have a government warning label on them to alert you about its hazards.
P.S. Doc is not completely wrong: There is no need for lead in cadmium paints, it is toxic enough by itself. Water soluble does not mean 'water based' it has an Acrylic (polymer)Base. And many of the same pigments are used in acrylic and oil paints.
Read your labels...both of you!
Edit: Won't work Doc. You cite Cadmium then quote Napthol Red and Light Magenta which do not have cadmium or cobalt. Look again to see that your 'Cadmium Red' is a HUE which means that the color has been made without using cadmium.

EDIT ll: So to finish up this silliness - You say there ARE warning labels on the product... good, that is my only point.

Like I said long ago, you are not completely wrong.
OOPS!: The selection of alphabets to which M.Graham, Golden, Gamblin and others do not belong is ; ACMI or the Art & Creative Materials Institute. They certify that the labeled product has MET ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials) standards. Kind of a redundant label since the government requires ASTM and special note of carcinogenic contents as stated by the California prop 65 label.
So... as long as you don't inhale, eat, or inject (Doc ?) any paint it is safe in normal use.
