Rookie problem cooking hamburgers?
I've always used a George Foreman or a grill to cook hamburgers, but my George Foreman is somehow missing and it's too cold to grill.
I tried for the first time to fry hamburgers on the stove: Sear each side for one minute, then cook each side for two...
Long story short, my kitchen was full of smoke, part of the bottom lining of the pan was burned onto the (electric) stove, and the middle of the hamburgers was extremely chewy/moist, even though the rest was cooked just right.
What did I do wrong?
Turn the heat down and cook them for about 4 minutes on each side..... you had the heat up too high.
