What colors should I paint my walls?
I just moved into a new place. the walls are a real bad paint job of very light brown.
My furniture is Ethan Allen, and its hard core country.
It's all about 30 years old and in terrific shape. Sofa is red plaid, recliner and wing-back chair are both in dark blue. I also have a dough box type end table.
What color should I paint the room? 2 tone is fine. Would like to make it seem like a larger room, though its not small.
I'm not a fan of earth tones, but I don't see how I have much of a choice. Would like something more than white/beige/brown
Carpet is beige
You don't have to go with all earth tones -- you can use an accent wall (one wall a different color) in order to highlight it. When I was in a dilema about what to paint, I went to Home depot and got a couple sample colors but the thing that really helped is the Sherwin Williams site. They have an interactive site so that you can see how the pain will go with other colors.
I picked the room closest that included views of other rooms and then "painted" to see how they would all merge together. Good luck.. have fun with it. Remember, you can always paint over it.
