Quickbooks Pro 2004 - My checks are printing in red ink! How do I fix this?
A few weeks ago, just the last one or two of a batch of checks would print red, then later, the last three or four. I figured I was running out of black ink, so I refilled my ink cartridge, and now I printed 27 checks in bright red ink. Very cheery for Christmas, I know, but I think it looks foolish. Any ideas? When I use other programs, the black ink prints just fine.
There are two things I'd recommend.
First, locate a file (using search) named qbprint.qbp and rename it to qbprint.old. This will force QuickBooks to create a new printer preference file. Test print some checks (use plain paper if you like). If this resolves the problem, keep in mind that all your printing preferences have been reset to default so, every time you print something for the first time, you may need to check the setup. If the problem is not resolved, find the qbprint.old file and rename it back to the original.
Secondly, try deleting and reinstalling your printer driver.
